Data sources & privacy policy

We collect data, we don’t create it

The hospitals, police stations, offices, schools, markets and places to visit on this site are not made up by us. They are collected from sources published on the internet. Wherever possible we use official government sources (the district portal kurigram.gov.bd, the Directorate General of Health Services, Bangladesh Police, Fire Service, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, Bangladesh Railway). Where no official source exists, we use the organisation’s own website, OpenStreetMap or another reliable public source.

Every listing links to its source and shows the date we collected it, so anyone can click through and check. Descriptions are written in our own words — we never copy another website’s text or photos.

Data can be out of date

Phone numbers, timetables, fares and officials change. Check the source before relying on it, and tell us if something is wrong. In an emergency, always call 999.

Information you give us

• Forms: the name and phone number you enter in “Add a business”, “Report wrong info” or the website-service form are used only to handle your request and contact you if needed. Personal contact details are never published, sold or shared.
• Spam protection: forms use Cloudflare Turnstile and a rate limit; for this we keep a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
• Statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.
• Removal requests: to delete what you sent us, or to remove your organisation’s listing, use this form.
• Photos: before publishing a reader’s photo we check that it was not taken from elsewhere (such as Google Maps or Facebook). Published photos credit the sender. If a photo you took was published without your permission, tell us via this form with the page link — we will check and remove it quickly.
